On April 29th 2014, Parvati Nair, Director of UNU-GCM, gave an inaugural address at the opening ceremony of C’MUN 2014 organized by the Model United Nations of Barcelona. Speaking to youth aged between 18 and 30, she focused on the importance of ensuring that debates on migration within the United Nations and amongst policy makers retained a focus on humanitarian and social issues. She identified questions of rights and recognition as key concerns and spoke of the work being carried out by UNU-GCM in Barcelona in these areas.
