is pleased to invite you to “Who Dances with Amir Khusro? The alternative path of South Asian Sufism – its glories and its pitfalls”, a lecture by Dr. Syed Nomanul Haq, to be held on Wednesday, May 27th at 19:00. This event is organised in collaboration with Casa Asia.

    Dr. Syed Nomanul Haq is currently Professor of the Social Sciences and Liberal Arts Programme, and advisor of the program, at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, Pakistan. Having studied at University College London and at Harvard University, he has served as a standing faculty member at Brown University and at the University of Pennsylvania, both Ivy League institutions. General Editor of Studies in Islamic Philosophy series of Oxford University Press, Dr. Haq recently shared the prestigious Waldo Leland Prize of the American Historical Association for his work in the New Cambridge History of Islam. His writings have appeared in some of the world’s top journals; among his publishers are Harvard University Press, Brill, Blackwell, and Cambridge University Press.

    The event will be chaired by Dr. Parvati Nair, Director of the United Nations University Institute on Globalization, Culture and Mobility (UNU-GCM)
