On July 24th and 25th 2014, UNU-GCM hosted a two-day international conference on Statelessness and Transcontinental Migration. The conference included a focus on statelessness, citizenship and noncitizenship, human security, transcontinental migration, urban vulnerabilities and decisions that trigger migration. Speakers at this conference came from over thirty different academic and non-academic institutions. The conference also included the launch of a website on statelessness (statelessness.tv), the screening of the documentary film Documented and a collaboration with the Tasneem Gallery in Barcelona, which is hosting an exhibition of photographs of Palestinian refugees by the California-based visual artist John Halaka.
