February 20th 2014 | UNU-GCM - Sant Manuel Pavilion | 18:00h

UNU-GCM is pleased to announce a Guest Lecture by Professor Samir Amin, entitled ‘Globalization, Migration and Statelessness.’

Born in Cairo, Professor Amin is an economist and a leading thinker on development. He is the author of over thirty books and has lectured widely. His work focuses on the links between imperialism, capitalism and globalization and aims to advocate an alternative social development. In this lecture, Professor Amin will explore the links between lumpen development, understood as social disintegration resulting from development as currently practised, and stateless migration.
